Day two starts with a drive from Dades to the Erg Chebbi desert at Merzouga, including a camel ride and overnight stay in a Berber tent in the Sahara. Day 02: Desert Adventure: Dades Gorges to Erg Chebbi
Start your day with a hearty breakfast. Travel from Dades Gorges to the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. En route, witness the charm of Berber villages and marvel at the grandeur of Todra Gorges, Tenghir, Tinjdad, Jorf, and Erfoud. As you approach Merzouga, the gateway to the vast Saharan oasis of Tafilalet, the landscape transforms. After a brief rest at a local hotel, prepare for a desert escapade. Mount camels and traverse the magnificent Erg Chebbi dunes. Capture the golden hues of the sunset and sunrise. The night promises cultural immersion with sandboarding, traditional drumming music, and a stay in a Berber nomad tent in the Sahara's embrace.
Day 03: Sahara Sunrise and Journey to Fes
Greet the dawn atop a Sahara dune, a sight to behold. Post breakfast, set forth to Errachidia. The route offers panoramic views of Erfoud, Aoufous, and the verdant Ziz Valley. Pause to admire the oasis of Aoufous in the Tafilalte region. The journey continues to Midelt for lunch, crossing the Tizi N’talghamt pass. The final leg takes you through the Cedar forest near Azrou, the Middle Atlas Mountains, and a possible encounter with Barbary apes. Accommodation

Desert camp, Merzouga: a camp among the dunes, reached by camel. Standard tents or luxury tents with a private bathroom are available. Dinner is served in camp, followed by Berber music around the fire.

Most days include 3 to 6 hours of driving with plenty of stops for photos, lunch and visits. The days to and from the desert are the longest.
Bring comfortable shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat or scarf and a light jacket. For the desert night, bring warm layers, especially from October to March.
Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the most pleasant. Summer is very hot in the desert, and winter nights can be cold.
