DAY 01: Fes to Merzouga Desert

DAY 03: Merzouga Desert to Fes
Return Journey via Tafilalet, Ziz Valley, and Ifrane
On the third day, embark on the return trip to Fez. Pass through the Tafilalet palm grove and the breathtaking Ziz valley, stopping at Aoufous for panoramic views. After lunch in Midelt, continue through the Cedar Woods, possibly sighting monkeys. Visit Ifrane, the "Moroccan Switzerland," located in the Middle Atlas. Arrive in Fes in the evening for your hotel transfer, concluding a memorable Moroccan heartland adventure.

Accommodation

Desert camp, Merzouga: a camp among the dunes, reached by camel. Standard tents or luxury tents with a private bathroom are available. Dinner is served in camp, followed by Berber music around the fire.

Most days include 3 to 6 hours of driving with plenty of stops for photos, lunch and visits. The days to and from the desert are the longest.
Bring comfortable shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat or scarf and a light jacket. For the desert night, bring warm layers, especially from October to March.
Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the most pleasant. Summer is very hot in the desert, and winter nights can be cold.
